Thirteen enzymes. Five macronutrients. One capsule.
Thirteen enzymes, three of them trademarked, none of them hiding under a generic name like digestive complex.
Protein
Protease I, II, III · Bromelain · Papain · Peptizyme SP®
Five of the thirteen enzymes in this formula go after protein. The three proteases work across different pH levels, which matters because food moves from the acid of your stomach into the more neutral small intestine. Bromelain comes from pineapple and papain from papaya, both long standing proteolytic enzymes. Together they break protein down into peptides and amino acids your body can actually absorb.
Fat
Lipase
Lipase splits dietary fat into fatty acids and glycerol. It is the enzyme most people are short on when a meal is heavy, rich or fried, and it is the difference between a high fat meal sitting comfortably and sitting like a brick. One enzyme, one job, and it is the only one in the formula that does it.
Carbohydrate and Sugars
Amylases · Diastase · Glucoamylase · Invertase
Starch does not get absorbed as starch. Amylases and diastase cut long starch chains into shorter ones, glucoamylase finishes the job by releasing glucose, and invertase handles sucrose by splitting it into glucose and fructose. Four enzymes working in sequence on the same food, which is why a single amylase on its own is not enough.
Fiber and Plant Matter
Cellulase · HemiSEB®
Humans do not produce cellulase. That is not a deficiency, it is just how we are built, and it is why plant cell walls pass through largely intact. Cellulase breaks down cellulose and HemiSEB handles hemicellulose, the other structural fiber in vegetables, grains and legumes. More of what is locked inside plant cells gets released instead of passing straight through.
Dairy
Lactase
Lactase splits lactose into glucose and galactose. Most adults worldwide produce less of it than they did as children, which is why cheese, milk and whey protein stop agreeing with people somewhere in their twenties. This is the same enzyme sold on its own as a lactose aid, included here so a meal with dairy in it does not need a second product.
Beans and Cruciferous Vegetables
Alpha Galactosidase (DigeSEB Super®)
Beans, lentils, broccoli and cabbage carry sugars called raffinose and stachyose that human digestion cannot touch. They travel intact to the large intestine where gut bacteria ferment them, and that fermentation is exactly where the gas and discomfort comes from. Alpha galactosidase breaks those sugars down earlier, before they ever get there.
Thirteen enzymes. Every macro covered.
Your body already makes these
Digestive enzymes are not a foreign substance. Your pancreas and small intestine produce them every time you eat, and they are the reason food turns into something you can actually absorb. The issue is supply. Bigger meals, higher protein and more fiber all ask for more enzyme than a normal output is built for.
That is where this comes in. Thirteen enzymes, 575 mg, taken at the start of a meal so they are in place while the food is still there. Protein, fat, carbohydrate, fiber and dairy, all covered by a single capsule.
Digestive Enzymes: a closer look
-
PEPTIZYME SP® — proteinA trademarked proteolytic enzyme from Specialty Enzymes, also known as serrapeptase. Inside this formula it functions as an additional protease, adding capacity on protein alongside the other five.
-
ALPHA GALACTOSIDASE (DIGESEB SUPER®) — raffinose and stachyoseBeans, lentils, broccoli and cabbage carry sugars called raffinose and stachyose that human digestion has no enzyme for. They reach the large intestine intact, gut bacteria ferment them, and the gas and discomfort follows. Alpha galactosidase breaks them down before they ever get that far.
-
HEMISEB® — hemicelluloseA trademarked hemicellulase complex from Specialty Enzymes. Hemicellulose is the second structural fiber in plant cell walls, sitting alongside cellulose in vegetables, grains and legumes. Breaking it down releases more of what is locked inside the cell rather than letting it pass through whole.
-
AMYLASES — starchThe first enzyme your body uses on a meal, released in saliva before food even reaches your stomach. Amylases cut long starch chains into shorter dextrins and maltose. Every starchy food you eat, from rice to potatoes to bread, starts here.
-
PROTEASE I, II, III — proteinThree proteases, not one, because protein digestion happens across a moving pH. The stomach is strongly acidic, the small intestine is closer to neutral, and an enzyme tuned for one is inefficient in the other. Covering all three ranges means protein keeps getting broken down as it travels.
-
LIPASE — fatLipase splits dietary fat into fatty acids and glycerol. It is the single enzyme in this formula responsible for fat, and it is the one most people feel the absence of after a heavy or fried meal.
-
LACTASE — lactoseSplits lactose into glucose and galactose. Most adults produce less lactase than they did as children, which is why dairy quietly stops agreeing with people in their twenties and thirties. This is the same enzyme sold on its own for dairy, built into the formula so a meal with cheese or whey in it does not need a second product.
-
CELLULASE — celluloseHumans do not produce cellulase at all. That is not a deficiency, it is simply how we are built, and it is the reason plant cell walls survive the trip largely intact. Cellulase breaks the bonds holding cellulose together, which is work your own digestion cannot do on its own.
-
DIASTASE — starchA malt sourced starch enzyme that works alongside the amylases on the same substrate. It attacks starch chains and releases maltose, adding capacity on the single most common macronutrient in most meals.
-
GLUCOAMYLASE — dextrinsAmylase leaves the job half done. It produces shorter chains called dextrins, which still are not small enough to absorb. Glucoamylase works from the ends of those chains and releases individual glucose units, finishing what amylase started.
-
INVERTASE — sucroseTable sugar is sucrose, a glucose molecule bonded to a fructose molecule. Invertase splits that bond. Without it, sucrose has to wait on the enzymes lining your small intestine to do the same job.
-
BROMELAIN — proteinA protease that comes from the stem of the pineapple. One of the two genuinely plant sourced enzymes in this formula, and one of the oldest studied proteolytic enzymes in use. It adds protein breakdown capacity alongside the three proteases.
-
PAPAIN — proteinExtracted from papaya, and the reason papaya has been used as a meat tenderizer for centuries. That tenderizing effect is protein being broken apart, which is exactly the job it does in a meal.
