One softgel. Once a day. With food.
With the biggest meal of your day
One softgel alongside your largest meal. Omega-3s are fat soluble, so a meal with real fat in it improves how much you actually absorb. It is also the single best way to avoid the repeat, which is largely a question of what else is in your stomach when it gets there.
One is the baseline
One softgel covers 720 mg of omega-3, which is comfortably above what most general recommendations land on. Some people run two, usually when they eat very little fish or are chasing a higher EPA intake specifically. There is no reason to go past that without a reason, and the bottle is built around one a day.
Judge it at month three
Omega-3s get built into your cell membranes gradually, and levels take roughly three to four months to plateau. Nothing here works on a weekly timescale. Take it daily, finish the bottle, start the next one, and judge it somewhere around month three.
One softgel. 720 mg omega-3. 432 EPA, 288 DHA.
1,200 mg of fish oil per softgel yielding 720 mg of omega-3, broken out as 432 mg EPA and 288 mg DHA. A 60 percent concentrate, where most of the category runs closer to 30. Every amount printed on the label.
Recovery & Inflammatory Balance
EPA 432 mg per Softgel
EPA is the omega-3 most studied for how the body regulates its own inflammatory response, which is why it is the one that comes up in conversations about training recovery and joint comfort. Four hundred thirty two milligrams per softgel, printed on its own line rather than folded into a single omega-3 total.
Brain, Eyes & Cell Structure
DHA 288 mg per Softgel
DHA is structural. It gets physically built into cell membranes and it concentrates most heavily in the brain and the retina, which is why it is the omega-3 that shows up in cognitive and vision research rather than the recovery work. Two hundred eighty eight milligrams per softgel.
A Sixty Percent Concentrate
1,200 mg Fish Oil · 720 mg Omega-3
Twelve hundred milligrams of fish oil, 720 of which is actual omega-3. That is a 60 percent concentrate, where standard commodity fish oil sits closer to 30. It is the reason one softgel here covers what two or three of the cheaper ones do, and the arithmetic is printed on the back of the bottle.
EPA and DHA are not the same thing.
What the split is for
Fish oil gets sold as one ingredient, but there are two omega-3s inside it doing different jobs. EPA is the one most associated with how your body manages recovery and inflammatory signalling. DHA is structural. It gets built into cell membranes and it sits most heavily in your brain and your eyes.
This panel breaks them out because the ratio is a decision, not an accident. Four hundred thirty two milligrams of EPA and 288 of DHA per softgel, which is three parts to two. Most fish oil labels print one omega-3 number and let you assume the rest.
Omega 3 Fish Oil: a closer look
-
FISH OIL — 1,200 mgTwelve hundred milligrams of fish oil per softgel, concentrated to deliver 720 mg of omega-3. That is a 60 percent concentrate, where standard commodity fish oil runs closer to 30, and it is the reason one of these covers what two or three of the cheaper ones do. Lemon flavored, in a gelatin softgel. Contains fish.
-
EPA — 432 mgEicosapentaenoic acid. The omega-3 most studied for how the body regulates its own inflammatory response, which is why it is the one that comes up around recovery and joint comfort. Four hundred thirty two milligrams per softgel, printed on its own line rather than buried in a single omega-3 total.
-
DHA — 288 mgDocosahexaenoic acid. The structural omega-3, built directly into cell membranes and concentrated most heavily in the brain and the retina. Two hundred eighty eight milligrams per softgel, which alongside the EPA gives a three to two ratio.
