MAX Catalyst™ helps you achieve maximum absorption from your products by regulating phase II detoxification enzymes as well as the glucuronidation process in the liver. MAX Catalyst™ shields the underlying ingredient and helps inhibit the key metabolizing enzymes in the cytochrome P450 class. Cytochrome P450, found in the liver and small intestinal epithelial cells, is a metabolizing enzyme for almost 70% of drug and food ingredients. Given this high percentage, MAX Catalyst™ is applicable on a broad number of drugs and food ingredients to maximize absorption.
CYP3A4 Inhibition
Glucuronidation attaches a glucuronide molecule to compounds so that they can be excreted through the urine. MAX Catalyst™ modulates this natural process, leading to elevated ingredient levels in the blood. In addition, MAX Catalyst™ can prolong intestinal transit time and slow down gastric emptying which increases the time ingredients are exposed for potential uptake further increasing overall absorption.
MAX Catalyst™ is structurally altered both to enhance the inhibitor and to precisely time its beneficial effects to the targeted ingredient. Altering the timing overcomes the inherent inability for an inhibitor to work effectively on fast-absorbing ingredients. This is why an inhibitor like normal piperine works great on slow-absorbing ingredients such as Circumin but does very little on the vast majority of ingredients which are absorbed before normal piperine even has time to work.
